Amy is the founder of the Law Offices of Amy E. Owen in San Antonio, Texas. A San Antonio native, she grew up in Terrell Hills and graduated from Incarnate Word High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she interned at the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office. She then attended St. Mary’s University School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor while working at Cox and Smith in San Antonio.
Amy began her legal career as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney at the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, prosecuting cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. Before leaving the office, she served as a Felony Family Violence Prosecutor. In 2010, she transitioned to private practice, where she has successfully defended clients in a wide range of criminal matters, including DWI, assault family violence, drug possession, aggravated robbery, and murder, achieving numerous acquittals.
